The contents of this website have been created with care. However, no guarantee is given for the accuracy, completeness or timeliness of the content. As a service provider I am responsible for my own content on these pages under general law. I am not obliged to monitor transmitted or stored third-party information or to investigate circumstances that indicate illegal activity (§§ 7 to 10 DDG).
This website contains links to external websites. I have no influence on their content and therefore accept no responsibility for it. The provider or operator of a linked page is always responsible for its content. Linked pages were checked for legal violations at the time of linking; no violations were apparent.
All photographs, films and texts on this website are protected by German copyright law. Any reproduction, editing, distribution or use beyond the limits of copyright law requires my written consent.
The controller for data processing on this website is David Haase, Birkenstr. 47, 10551 Berlin, Germany, mail@david-haase.com. You can use this website without giving any personal data. Where personal data is processed, this section explains what happens and why.
The website is hosted on servers of Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, in a data centre in Germany, on the basis of a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). Delivery runs through the content network of Cloudflare, Inc., which processes connection data such as your IP address in order to deliver the pages and to fend off attacks (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, interest in secure and fast delivery).
Each request is recorded in a log file. It contains the browser type and version, the operating system, the referring page, the requested address, the time of the request and the IP address. This data is needed to operate the site securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The log files are rotated automatically, older entries are overwritten, and the data is not combined with other sources. It is only evaluated if there is concrete evidence of misuse.
If you write to me, your message and your address are processed in order to answer it (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). Email is handled through Google Workspace (Google Ireland Limited, Dublin). Messages remain stored until the matter is settled and statutory retention periods have expired.
The newsletter runs on my own server; no external mailing provider is involved. When you sign up, your name, your email address and the time of registration are stored. You will receive an email asking you to confirm the registration (double opt-in); without that confirmation no newsletter is sent. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Every newsletter contains an unsubscribe link; after unsubscribing your data is removed. Your address is not passed on to third parties.
This website does not set cookies for visitors. Cookies are only used when logging in to the administration area, and they are technically necessary for that. Cookies from third parties are only set if you start a film yourself, see the next section.
Some project pages show films that are hosted by Vimeo. Nothing is loaded from Vimeo when you open such a page: until you press play you only see a still image delivered from my own server. Only when you start a film does your browser connect to Vimeo (Vimeo.com, Inc., New York, USA); your IP address and browser data are transmitted and Vimeo may set cookies. The legal basis is the consent you give by pressing play (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); the player is asked not to track you. Data may be processed in the USA. Details are set out in Vimeo’s privacy policy at vimeo.com/privacy.
This website does not use Google Analytics or comparable tracking services, and it does not create visitor profiles.
You have the right to obtain information about the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR), to have it corrected (Art. 16), erased (Art. 17) or its processing restricted (Art. 18), to receive it in a portable format (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). Consent once given can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Alt-Moabit 59-61, 10555 Berlin.
Your data is not used for automated decision-making or profiling.
The website is delivered over an encrypted connection (TLS); you can recognise it by the lock symbol in your browser and the address beginning with https.
